CONFIRMED
- Heba El-Sisy, Miss Egypt 2004 is going to Miss World 2004, China in
November 2004. Starting September 2004, Heba will start taking English
classes to improve her English. 50 years ago, Egypt won Miss World 1954. In
2004, Egypt hopes to reach the crown with Heba El-Sisy. In Miss Universe
2004, Heba was many people's favorite for the crown. Many newspaper
predicted her to be among the Top 15. Good Luck, Heba, in Miss World 2004.
Q: Are you
ready for Miss World 2004?
Yes, I am. I
think by now, I do have enough experience about the international pageants.
During Miss Universe, many other delegates were also planning to represent
their countries in Miss World 2004. So, I will get to meet some of the Miss
Universe delegates with me in China.
Q: Because
Miss World has more than 100 competing contestants, do you think the
competition will be harder for you?
Not really. It
is a competition, the best one will win anyway. Its not about the number of
delegates, but about how strong the girls are.
Q: Were you
noticed in Miss Universe?
Of course. In
Miss Universe 2004, they asked all the delegates to put their favorite top
15. I can tell you that almost all the 80 lists had Egypt among them. Thats
beside being many fans' favorite.
Q: How did
you feel after they announced the Top 15 without you?
I was so
shocked. I thought they announced the wrong list or something and the
correct list will be announced all over again. But then I looked around and
found VENEZUELA, UKRAIN, and TURKEY not among the Top 15 too. I felt bad for
the so much effort I gave this competition. I just didn't like the Top 15,
many nations didn't deserve to be there. The Egyptian ambassador in Quito
called me while I was there and congratulated me for being an excellent
representative. Even the organization of Miss Universe congratulated Egypt's
National Directors for sending an excellent representative. There were many
things that made my expectations higher.
Q: What do
you think about Australia as a winner?
She deserved
it. After she was announced the new Miss Universe 2004, we all started
crying and ran to hug her. We weren't supposed to do that, but we couldn't
hold our excitment back. The host even noticed and told us how strange to
see most, if not all, the delegates satisfied with the winner and so happy
for her.
Q: How did
you feel when you were called among the Top 10 National Costumes?
I was
backstage when they called Egypt. After I heard Egypt, I thought they were
calling me for something, not to join the Top 10. I was so surprised. Before
the National Costume Competition, Lebanon told me "Your costume is a Top 10
material" and she was correct. I got to appear on the stage once more among
the Top 10. It was such a great feeling.
Q: Who was
your best friend in Ecuador?
Lebanon, it
was obvious from all the pictures at the web site.
Q: What are
your upcoming charity project(s)?
Currently, we
are collecting donations from Cairo's private schools. With the money, we
will provide food for the poor children during the holy month of Ramadan
with the help of Cairo Sheraton and other Pantene Miss Egypt 2004
contestants.
Q: What
will Heba do after she crowns Miss Egypt 2005?
I am now
taking those acting and singing courses, I will try to get into those fields
beside modeling.
